Fitness Retreat

Look Good, Feel Good and Do Good

You work hard and constantly strive to achieve the best for your friends and family. When was the last time you focussed on solely you? This is an amazing opportunity to treat yourself.

Our luxurious fitness retreat provides you with peace and quiet, perfect for meditation and reflection. This is combined with fitness activities, massages, nutrition workshops and feel-good masterclasses to boost your energy and confidence.

Where, When and Who For?

On the 18th – 20th October, you are invited to join LND Events, Fit Happens and In Motion Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy, at the beautiful location of The Farmhouse (Goathland) for a retreat focusing on mind, body and spirit.

Is this for you? The experience is predominately a fitness retreat, but has been tailored to suit all abilities. You’ll be challenged in a supportive environment. Although, no one will feel out of their depth!

The Itinerary

You will spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday in communal exercise classes which include Pilates, strengthening, toning and running – or jogging if this is more your pace as well as a class specifically designed to show you the correct way to approach certain movements so you can ensure you are not accidentally lifting, pushing or squatting in ways which could cause damage to your body in the long term.

To make sure you are exercising at the right pace and ability for yourself, you will also have a one-to-one session with our expert trainer Angela Baker, who will talk about your personal goals and make a plan to suit your needs.

Angela is a certified Personal Trainer who is also qualified in Pilates, Pre and Post Natal, Circuits, MMA and many more group fitness classes. She has a passion for running as a form of meditation. Her focus is on teaching proper form and posture. Angela aims to educate clients, help them obtain positive behaviour change and life-long healthy habits.

To ensure you’re not overworking through the weekend and to restore your mind, body and spirit, you will have several opportunities for downtime where you can relax in your room, do a spot of reading or enjoy the great outdoors by exploring Goathland either on some guided walks or go at your own pace and feel free to sprint your way round.

Factored into the weekend, you will also be treated to another one-to-one session, this time with Emily Smith. Based in Malton and York. Emily provides Soft Tissue Therapy and Massage techniques to help rehabilitate muscles, prevent further injury; relief from certain medical conditions and more and over the weekend Emily will be providing a taster treatment on any areas of concern you may have.

The communal activities don’t stop at exercise. We will be offering nutrition workshops, massage workshops and some surprise masterclasses to keep fun at the forefront of the weekend.

The owners of The Farmhouse, our hosts for the weekend, are also trained chefs and meals will be provided using local, organic produce, which will focus on being healthy yet nutritious so no one will be left hungry!

FAQs and Essential Information

Q: How are the rooms set up?

A: The Farmhouse consists of the main building itself which has three rooms, a cottage which has three rooms and a self contained double bedroom. Across the site, there will be three twin rooms in total and the rest will be double or king-sized beds. Rooms will be allocated with a focus on whether you are coming with a friend, partner or on your own.

Q: Can I take a room to myself?

A: We have tried to make ticket prices as affordable as possible to balance the amount of experts we have present and quality we are providing alongside the understanding this is an investment for the individual. To ensure this could happen, the overall price is based on sharing rooms so to have a room to yourself would mean not only an uplift in room price, but also overall ticket price to counteract losing another guest.

Q: Can I come as a day guest and not stay?

A: The timetable for the weekend has been very carefully planned and our experts have their time fully booked based on residential guests. There may be potential to open spaces to day guests in the exercise space and workshops, once the residential spaces are all filled but you wouldn’t have access to a lot of the treats that we have planned.

Q: What do I need to bring with me?

A: Once you’re booked on the retreat, you will be sent a full checklist of things to pack but as a general rule it will be lots of fitness clothing, clothes and footwear you feel comfortable in walking in (if you want to), and casual clothing for the evenings.

Q: I can’t come on the retreat anymore, is my ticket refundable?

A: Unfortunately no refunds can be offered unless your space can be re-booked based on a reserve waiting list, due to the ticket prices being specifically worked out on all 16 people attending. Refunds will be given should the retreat not be able to go ahead.

Q: When do I need to book by?

A: Tickets must be booked by 1st June 2019 to ensure your place on the retreat.

Q: Can I bring my dog with me?

A: Sadly, as much as we love pets, they are not permitted at the venue.

Q: Is this retreat open to anyone?

A: Yes absolutely, but please be mindful of the room set up mentioned in the first FAQ. If you have any special needs or requirements we need to take into account, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further.

Q: Will dietary needs be taken into account?

A: Absolutely. Once you have booked on, we will go through any allergies, intolerances or food concerns and make sure you’re fully catered for.
